I’m living out of a campervan at the moment and making money online. I don’t have to go into an office to do my work, so I can travel. And now I’m going to share with you how to make money while travelling.
There is not just one way to make money while travelling
There are many ways to make money while travelling. I detail my 7 best at home business ideas here, and most of those can be done while travelling as well.
However, in this article I will share with you the very best way that I have learned to make money while travelling.
So, without further ado, the way I make money while travelling is affiliate marketing.
What is affiliate marketing?
Affiliate marketing is simply selling other people’s products through links from your own content.
Your content can be about anything that interests you.
And because you are writing about what interests you, your writing ability is not the most important aspect of your writing.
Why? Because you are writing to an audience of people just like you. Therefore, they do not expect you to be a better writer than they are. They simply want to learn about what you know on their area of interest that they do not yet know.
For example, I know how to make money while travelling, and I know the best way to learn more about how to make money online full stop. In fact, I review the best way to learn about affiliate marketing in an article on this site entitled Wealthy Affiliate Review. This page details the way I have learned pretty much everything I know about affiliate marketing.
My first successful affiliate marketing site was spendbitcoins.com. I was lucky enough to make that work without knowing much about affiliate marketing. However, it took me ten years to get there through sheer luck. I would have been much more successful much faster had I had the training I now have through Wealthy Affiliate.
What kinds of things can you write about as an affiliate marketer?
The sky really is the limit, but here are some examples:
Product reviews — These are the most common types of affiliate marketing websites. For this you review products and link to the products reviewed using your own unique affiliate link.
Book reviews — If you review books, you can link to these books directly on Amazon, one of the most well-known affiliate programs online today (this is the affiliate program that was most utilised by my first successful affiliate site, spendbitcoins.com.
How to sites — You can walk people through how to do anything that you already know how to do and include affiliate links to tools needed to do the job.
Podcasts — Many podcasts advertise using an affiliate model where you mention your affiliate link on your show and get paid anytime anyone buys something entering through your link. Two prominent examples are Free Talk Live, which shares all of its affiliate links at http://shop.freetalklive.com and Keith and the Girl, which shares all of its affiliate links at http://www.keithandthegirl.com/coupons/. They also generally mention one or two of these affiliates on each episode of their respective programs.
These are just a few examples.
Basically, any content that you create can include affiliate links. Whether this is your sole income from your content or a supplement, there is no reason not to be an affiliate marketer if you publish content online.
Please share your own ideas for how to make money while travelling as well as any other thoughts or questions in the comments below. I look forward to hearing from you.
